Meet our Trio!

Family isn't always blood, it's the people in your life who want you in theirs: the ones who accept you for who you are, the ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.

Paulina: I was born and raised in Poland, in the beautiful historic town of Gdansk on the shore of the Baltic Sea. After graduating from university with master's in archeology, I came to the USA to fulfill my lifelong dream of taking a year to experience living and traveling in the States. That period of time was everything I hoped for and more: not only did I get to see a big chunk of America, but also met the love of my life!
Calvin & I met in NYC and 8 months into our relationship we were engaged. We got married in Las Vegas and had a church ceremony the following year in Poland. A few years later we adopted our son Liam.
I love spending time with my family, traveling, going on nature hikes and camping. I also enjoy Broadway shows, reading good mystery & horror novels (big Stephen King's fan) and baking. I am a foodie and I love to experiment in the kitchen trying out recipes from different cuisines.
We recently bought a house and now I’m learning to garden & DIY projects which is a lot of fun! My biggest fulfillment is being a Mom and I'd love to raise more kiddos. Being an only child myself, I can appreciate how much more enriching life would have been if I had a sibling.
She is my best friend. She is warm, caring, attentive and thoughtful. She is amazingly patient with Liam and always tries to explain the reason behind the decision rather than just saying "because I said so". She is such a positive person with an optimistic approach to life. And she has the cutest accent ;) - Calvin about Paulina

Calvin: I am a New Yorker born & raised, however my family comes from the Midwest. I have a huge clan of aunts, uncles and cousins all over Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia. I have a graduate degree in public administration. In my spare time I prefer to be outdoors than indoors. I enjoy working in the garden and around the house fixing things. I love taking my family on road trips and I'm always searching for fun things for us to do. I also like quiet evenings at home playing board games and watching Netflix. My hobby is painting miniatures, listening to podcast, history & football.
I couldn’t have picked a better person to share my life with. Calvin is a true Family Guy, always putting us first and coming up with fun things for us to do together. He is rational, down to earth, reliable and caring. He is very sociable, easy to talk to and makes friends easily. Most importantly, he is a great father to Liam, always teaching him something new and engaging him in activities. I know he can't wait to change diapers all over again;) - Paulina about Calvin

Liam is super smart and funny. He is adventurous, boisterous and very inquisitive. He reads a lot and gets very good grades. Liam loves anime, Greek mythology, playing with friends, biking and playing video games. He also loves taking pictures and drawing. His current favourite animal is wolf and everything in his room has to have a wolf emblem on it.
Liam can't stop talking about being a big brother and can't wait to teach the baby to play soccer :)

They are pretty cool parents. We do a lot of fun stuff together and they are always there for me. I love them. - Liam about Paulina & Calvin

Our Life

Our relationship has grown stronger over the years. Although we spend the majority of our time together with Liam, we don't forget about the importance of date nights and quality "just the two us us" moments.
We cherish small moments in life like a picnic in Central Park on a Sunday afternoon or an outing to a local Wendy's when we don't feel like cooking. We cannot wait to add another child to our family and create more  memories, big & small.
We love being outdoors. Having a connection with nature is very important to us: we enjoy playing in the yard, going for walks, hiking in the woods, kayaking & river-tubing. We want for our kids to have a carefree "old-fashioned" childhood with limited electronics. We'd rather our kids jump in puddles, climb on rocks, swing from trees, run freely, or scoop and dig dirt than be glued to the screen.
Throughout the year we take many spontaneous road trips and quick getaways upstate. NY has tons of kids-friendly walking trails and hikes for all levels. Beautiful beaches, nature preserves, forests and mountains are all within a short driving distance.
One of the highlights of every summer is going camping. We set up a tent, gather firewood, go for a hike, and just unplug, relax and enjoy the nature. We love sleeping under the open sky and being able to see the stars away from the bright lights of the big city!
A fun thing to do in the mountains is to take a scenic skyride to the summit. We enjoy playing scavenger hunt and trying to spot & identify the wildlife. After returning to the campsite, we go for a refreshing swim in the lake and end the day sitting by the fire & making S'mores.
Our favorite vacation destination is anywhere there is sun and sand.  Once a year we take a big trip somewhere tropical. If there is a beach, palm trees and 80 degree weather - we are happy!
Foreign travels are our biggest passion. We value the ability to meet people from all over the world, learn about different cultures and customs.  For us as parents traveling abroad gives us the opportunity to teach our son first-hand about the differences that exist in the world, and to teach him to celebrate and cherish those differences as something that adds color, depth and beauty to our lives.

Traveling or staying home, working or playing - our family is in the center of everything we do. For us being a Family means spending lots and quality time together. It means developing strong rituals & traditions, celebrating big occasions and enjoying idle, quiet moments. It means giving and receiving endless, unconditional love and support. Adoption made our dream of growing our family into a reality. It'd be such a privilege and honor to expend our family through adoption once again!
